"[...] Just wanted to say thanks to Ben and Shawn for yesterday's session. Ben helped my son buil[d] a really nice wagon and he's so happy, won't go anywhere without it.
I wish my kids were hands on yesterday but they were really shy haha. But it was great they had their first chance at it. Looking forward to the foosball workshop!"

Jinxia:"It was a very nice session where kids get to design their own toys and learn that idea can come true. It also help them learn that trial and error are part and parcel of realising their idea. It is also a good parent and kid bonding session as well as allowing the kids chance to handle power tools. Ben was very patient and teach the kids how to safely handle it
... I thought it would be nice to have an instruction sheet, it will help to guide the session while the facilitator is helping other kids... It would also be nice to ratio the participants and facilitators as the facilitators can better concentrate. Overall my kids and family truly enjoy the session. And would strongly reccommend it to others. It is an experience that is hard to come by and fun to participate." |
Cheryl:"All of the parents and kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The brief introduction was just nice for these young children, and the hands-on experience was perfect for them to understand how tools are used and how they can create, and recycle. Great to have volunteers at hand to help out, especially when the children needed some guidance on sanding, drawing and waiting. It is good to have Khin Boon and Ben so patiently engage and teach and show the children how to saw and drill.
Appreciate very much how patient and calm all of you were, and had the children have a go themselves with the tools." |
Uma:"We had an awesome time during the workshop. The importance of imagination and putting it down on paper not just in the head. Planning how to create what's on paper.
It was great that the mentors allowed the kids full freedom in the imagination. The mentors were great. So were the kids. And the parents. [...]" |
